The process

SAMPEDRO’s production process is semi-vertical, which means that the company has practically all production sectors with the exception of spinning and some finishing services.

The production cycle extends over 9 production sections, with 60 looms, including physical and chemical tests of yarns and fabrics

Design office

All our products are created, designed and developed in this workshop. Always cutting-edge, and always trying to anticipate the latest trends, this is where our creative and technical staff create and develop designs for prints and Jacquard weaves, colours and finishes, always with a focus on an objective or a solution. In this regard we are never satisfied: a new design, a special yarn, a colour that has never been dyed before, a new twist, a different wash, a new blend of fabrics
For us, the sky’s the limit.
We create, develop, test and produce.

Weaving preparation

The entire production cycle begins here. Before the yarn is placed onto the looms, we have to prepare it for use in the weaving process. This is where the warp is produced which, later during weaving, will create the fabrics. It is equipped with 1 Karlmayer sectional warper, 1 Benninguer direct warper and 1 Karlmayer sizing machine.

Weaving

This is where the fabric is produced. This is today a modern section, located in a unit built from scratch for this sole purpose, this section includes a park of 60 machines spread over 25 jacquard looms and 35 dobby looms. It is equipped with an online system for production control and monitoring that allows to control, in real time, the section’s performance.

Raw inspection

This weaving support section allows the detection of possible defects at an early stage of the production process, thus making it possible to correct them on the loom. At this stage, the verification is performed manually.

Dyeing

Color laboratory equipped with a set of machines that allow for greater flexibility in pretreatment and dyeing processes and operations. In this section, Sampedro is able to dye yarn in crossed bobbins, terry and fabrics in exhaustion or semi-continuous. Depending on the type of raw materials being processed, vat dyes, reactive dyes, vat/dispersed, reactive/dispersed dyes are used.

Printing

In order to provide customers with a wide variety of designs, SAMPEDRO is equipped with a 320 cm wide Reggiani rotary printing machine, with a Pirovano printing colour kitchen and a 320 cm wide 32 head Reggiani digital printing machine and an Arioli vaporizer.

Finishing

Here we give the fabrics the functional finishes necessary to meet the customer's requirements. These finishes are achieved through different chemical or physical processes. We have two ramulas, one with 10 Monfort courses and the other with 8 Babcock courses for drying, chemical finishing, thermosetting of finishes and dimensional stabilization. A Sanfor (Cibitex) for dimensional stabilization. Improves the feel and fall of fabrics. A Tambler (Pentek) to improve the touch and volume in the terry, improves the touch and gives a more voluminous and relaxed appearance to the fabric. A Calender (Kleinewefers) that, through a mechanical process, improves the touch and shine.

Final check

This step ensures that all items produced and finished at SAMPEDRO are thoroughly controlled, thus guaranteeing their degree of compliance. All defects will be highlighted in this step. The fabric is 100% inspected.

Cut and sewing

Essentially, SAMPEDRO carries out cutting operations for subsequent fabrication. We have five cutting and spreading machines, three automatic machines of the brands Magetron, Gerber and Caron Lion, and two manual machines. The sewing machine park allows the production of samples and small orders. After fabrication, all garments are inspected before packing.
